Responsible waste management for a greener future

Resource recovery

We aim to reduce the volume of waste going into landfill by returning any reusable and recyclable materials to the supply chain or turning them into new products.

Everything we receive from councils, businesses and residents is sorted at our purpose-built recycling centre in a sustainable method that complies with all government strategies including the Environmental Protection Policy (EPP).

Innovative solutions

We are the only South Australian resource management company that is recovering organics from general waste at our state-of-the-art Wingfield recycling centre.

The compost-like-output obtained via our innovative processing solutions is used to cap our landfill at our Dublin Eco Hub. This helps diverts organics material from landfill, which not only has economical advantages, but also helps reduce our carbon footprint.

Education centre

Visitors can enjoy a sensory experience and see what happens to their waste and recycling materials once their bins leave the kerbside at our purpose-built education facility located on an actual working site.

Drawing together elements of the natural environment, indigenous environmental stewardship and modern waste management and resource recovery, the education centre provides the base for interactive education sessions.

Red Centre Enterprise

Red Centre Enterprises (RCE) is a wholly owned First Nations Australian business with the health and wellbeing of their Community at its heart.

IWS works in partnership with RCE and together we have established a greenhouse and a bush tucker farm that RCE manage and operate. RCE have the knowledge of the land and plants to help us rehabilitate our site.

The knowledge from RCE on rehabilitation and landscaping has ensured we return our site to a natural native state that also compliments the surrounding environment, in particular the Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary National Park.

Environmental monitoring and safety

IWS takes its environmental reporting and safety seriously. We ensure all our practices are compliant and maintain our certification.

To ensure we align with international best practice, Scope 1 (direct) and 2 (indirect) carbon emissions have been measured and we have begun the task of measuring our Scope 3 (other indirect) emissions. Please get in touch for further information.
