On Friday night 9th December IWS celebrated at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre 50 years in business and the 80th birthday of our founder, Pasquale Borrelli. It was a memorable trip through 50 years of business in Adelaide with the Borrelli family. The highlight of the evening was a tribute to Pasquale with the unveiling of his first truck fully restored.

IWS and project partners recently won a Civil Contractors Federation Nation Earth Award for civil construction projects valued between $1m and $5m of which the key component was the use of the IWS Treatment Facility located at Dublin. The award was presented with the facility being referred to as nation-leading for the remediation of high level contaminated soil.

Open Day
IWS Northern Balefill hosted a successful open day on Saturday 9th February. Interested locals, council and EPA representatives joined our staff for an informative look at how the Northern Balefill operates. Comments from Visitors included that they found it most informative and that it was good to see firsthand the level of environmental controls in place and commitment by IWS.

Dublin needed to chase down the 100 run total set by Long Plains, and did so with 2 wickets to spare! An admiral mention to ‘Benny’ (pictured left) who was on the side lines nursing a fractured jaw whilst batting against Hamley Bridge in January.

IWS has just taken delivery of a new Kenworth Prime Mover and two Freightmaster TriAxle Trailers.

Cherry King
On Tuesday 9th November the CEO of IWS, Joe Borrelli, donned his regal robes as the successful bidder for the first box of cherries for the season. Joe was appointed King Cherry for the day and had the rewarding job of distributing the cherries to the children at the Women's and Children's Hospital. The bid was a new record with the money raised going to Camp Quality.

Treatment Facility - Northern Balefill - Official Opening
On Wednesday 27th October as part of the Wast Management Association of Australia Conference ' Watch your Waste Line', Integrated Waste Services celebrated the opening of the new facility at the IWS Northern Balefill for the treatment of a new waste soil classification - High Level Contaminated Waste. The Hon Paul Holloway, Minister for Urban Development and Planning officially opened the new facility at the Conference Welcome Reception where invited guests and local, interstate and international Conference Delegates gathered to help celebrate another 1st for IWS and South Australia.

Dublin Cricket Club
IWS is proud to be a major sponsor for the Dublin Cricket Club, the 2010/11 Season is now underway with a keen group of lads ready to get out there and play. The Seniors have a new Captain this year, born and bred in Dublin, the Juniors have a new Coach who brings many years of cricket experience and there are fresh new faces on the Committee as well as the stalwarts. New T-Shirts have been ordered for the Junior Team, featuring IWS along with other sponsors BP Dublin and the Dublin General Store. The Cricket Club also have their Dublin Green Dream project and are on target to have their oval covered in green grass within five years (it is now the fourth year). IWS wishes the team the best of luck for the season.

Wingfield Recycling Centre Opening
On Thursday 9th September Integrated Waste Services proudly celebrated the opening of their new Recycling Centre at Wingfield. Hon Paul Caica, Minister for Environment and Conservation, officially cut the ribbon with the assistance of the Patriarch and Matriarch of the Borrelli family, Pasquale and Mafalda Borrelli.
Nearly 200 guests helped celebrate this milestone event which takes IWS into a new era of waste management. IWS is now able to tailor recycling services to meet customer needs due to the vast range of operating activities on offer. IWS allows government and business environmental performance strategies to be continually met over time.
